Career Kryptonite: How MenPaths Can Cope With a Type-A Boss

"As if being forced to spend your day in the modern open office environment with its soul-crushing din of background noise and loud talkers wasn’t bad enough for empaths and HSPs, having to do so under the autocratic style of a Type-A boss can feel like a double-whammy, a one-two punch, or whatever you prefer to call it.

"As empaths and HSPs who often wear our hearts on our sleeve (what I refer to over at MenPathic.com as the Type-M personality), we prefer a more human-centric workplace that’s peaceful, pleasant, and mutually supportive. It’s in this type of environment that empaths and highly sensitive people like us excel.

"But it’s rarely the environment in which we find ourselves working. Unfortunately, we often work under autocratic, somewhat narcissistic Type-A bosses who are the polar opposite of our Type-M presence. This sets us up for conflict from the moment we realize these differences.

"In my experience, working for a Type-A boss can be like working for a meth addict

"If you’ve ever crossed paths with a meth user in full-on tweaker mode, then you may have seen some similarities with your Type-A boss. Both are driven toward a goal like a locomotive charging toward a cliff.

"Like an addict in search of his next score, your Type-A boss can exhibit some strange behavior when he’s in hot pursuit of a new goal or outcome. So much so that it can seem like you’re not focused or on board with his latest agenda."

Yes, $27 is a lot to charge.
